Status Conferences

The Court keeps track of the progress of all adversary proceedings, and, to a lesser extent, chapter 11 proceedings and asset chapter 7 cases. If it appears from the docket that a case is not progressing, the Court will set a status conference. These are similar to preliminary hearings, and are usually set on trailing dockets. Generally no testimony is taken at a status conference--the purpose is to set a schedule aimed at completing the case. Clients need not attend.

Please come prepared to discuss the status of the case, matters remaining to be done and how long they will take, and an estimate of the time it would take for a final hearing or trial. Counsel are encouraged to discuss these matters before the conference. Please bring your calendar to any status conference.
