Chapter 13 Plan & Notice Processing Policy

The Clerk's Office will process the Chapter 13 Plan and Notice of Confirmation Hearing for mailing to all creditors by the Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC) when the plan and notice are filed with the petition as outlined in the File Chapter 13 Petition WIth Plan  flowchart.

The page size of the plan and notice PDF documents must not exceed 9.5 inches X 12 inches. PDF documents containing larger pages will not be processed by the BNC. Use NM Form 600 — Adobe PDF, Corel WordPerfect or Microsoft Word format — for the notice when the plan is filed with the petition.

Refer to the following procedures to ensure that your documents meet the page size requirements for processing by the BNC. The procedures assume that you have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer.

To verify the page size of a PDF document:

  1. Open the PDF document in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Look in the lower left-hand side of the page for the page size. If you are using Adobe Acrobat 9.0, the software may already be configured to display the page size of each page. Depending on how your software is configured, you may need to place the hand/cursor over the left-hand corner of the page to see the page size.
  3. Click on the "Next Page" arrow to verify the size of each page of the document.

To change the page size of a PDF document:

  1. Open the PDF document in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Click on the "Print" icon or press "Ctrl+P."
  3. Select "Adobe PDF" as your printer.
  4. In the "Page Handling" box, select "Shrink to Printable Area" from the "Page Scaling" drop-down menu.
  5. Click "OK."
  6. A "Save" dialog will appear asking you to save the document. Do so.
  7. Open the PDF document you have just saved and use the procedure above to verify the page size does not exceed 9.5" x 12".
