2009-13: Privacy Reminder Added to CM-ECF Login Screen

You may have noticed the following note posted on the CM-ECF login screen reminding e-filers of their responsibility to comply with Federal Rule of Bankruptcy Procedure :

IMPORTANT:  All filings with the court - including attachments - must comply with Fed. R. Bankr. P. 9037:  Social Security or taxpayer-identification numbers; dates of birth; names of minor children; and financial account numbers may not appear, except as allowed by the rule.

A more emphatic version of this note is forthcoming.  It will be a part of the next upgrade to CM-ECF version 3.3.2, currently scheduled for installation this fall.  The more emphatic version includes a checkbox the e-filer must check to affirm that the notice has been read and understood.  Checking this box will be a prerequisite to logging in.  The banner will read as follows:

IMPORTANT NOTICE OF REDACTION RESPONSIBILITY: All filers must redact: Social Security or taxpayer-identification numbers; dates of birth; names of minor children; and financial account numbers, in compliance with Fed.  R.  Bankr.  P.  9037.  This requirement applies to all documents, including attachments.

[   ] I understand that, if I file, I must comply with the redaction rules.  I have read this notice.
