Location

The Office of the Clerk of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico is located in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the Dennis Chavez Federal Building and United States Courthouse. The building is situated on the south side of Gold Avenue between 5th and 6th street.

The Dennis Chavez Federal Building and United States Courthouse also houses the courtrooms for the United States Bankruptcy Court.

Court Closures due to Inclement Weather

When local travel conditions are significantly affected by snow or other adverse weather conditions, the Clerk will record a message on the Clerk's Office main phone line, 505-348-2500 (toll free 866-291-6805), as early as 6:30 a. m. regarding delayed opening or closures of the Clerk's Office and changes in court hearing times for the day.  If you have questions about court hearings, please call the judges' offices for additional information.  Call Judge Starzynski's chambers at 505-348-2420.  Call Judge Jacobvitz's chambers at 505-348-2545.

To Enter the Building

All visitors to the Dennis Chavez Federal Building and United States Courthouse are required to present a photo ID at the magnetometer before being admitted to the building. Absolutely no weapons (including knives, sharp or pointed instruments, etc.) are permitted in the building. In addition, cameras, electronic recorders, transmitters, and receivers are prohibited on the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th floors.
