Both Chief Judge Jacobvitz and Judge Thuma allow counsel and parties to appear by telephone for preliminary hearings.  Include the following language in notices of preliminary hearings before the appropriate judge.

For Judge Jacobvitz’s cases:

Appearing by telephone:  Counsel/parties may appear via telephone if a request is made in advance by calling the chambers of Judge Jacobvitz at (505) 600-4650 or by e-mail to jacobvitzstaff@nmb.uscourts.gov.

For Judge Thuma's cases:  

For parties to appear by telephone, include this language:
