Transcripts and Audio Recordings of Proceedings

Transcripts and audio recordings of proceedings can be ordered as follows, depending on the judge who heard the proceeding. Rates vary but may not exceed maximum charges set by the Judicial Conference of the United States.

For information on redacting personal data identifiers from an electronic transcript of a proceeding, please read the judiciary's privacy policy.   See also Bankruptcy Court Guidelines for Implementation of the Judicial Conference Policies on Electronic Availability and Redaction of Transcripts of Court Proceedings, May 2008.

Audio Recording Copy Requests

Submit a request for an audio recording (on CD or DVD) of a proceeding using one of the following options:

  • For Attorneys or Transcribers/Cout Reporters, the request can be submitted electronically by filing an Audio Recording Copy Request in CM/ECF.  The $32 fee is paid via Pay.gov.
  • Make the request directly with the Clerk's Office by completing and submitting the request form, along with the fee, to the Clerk's Office.  The fee is $32 per proceeding.
  • If the presiding judge determines the audio recording will be uploaded to a docket entry in CM/ECF and available to the public via Internet access to the PACER system, the recording may be downloaded at any time via PACER for a $2.40 fee per audio file.

You may also listen to an audio recording for free from a computer in the Clerk's Office Viewing Room.
